Outreach Vision Statement and Mission
NPC is a "connectional" church, meaning that we believe in the Presbyterian form of government and actively
participate with our sister churches at Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly levels to develop meaningful national and world wide mission efforts.
Outreach
Committee Vision
We will constantly strive to:
 |
Express our Christianity through our actions. |
 |
Provide help and aid to those who are revealed to us by God as needing our help. |
 |
Understand God's will and act accordingly in reaching out to others. |
Outreach committee Mission
The outreach committee's mission centers around three concepts:
 |
Accountability and connectivity. |
 |
Personal and financial commitment. |
 |
Communication and education |
Accountability and connectivity mean that we prefer to support organizations
and individuals with whom we can have an interactive relationship. We will seek to offer our support in situations where we can receive feedback on the results of our
activities. We believe that if we account for the tangible results of our activity we will engender more involvement from the congregation. However, we recognize
that we are a connectional church. The General Assembly, the Synod, and the Presbytery are the appropriate channels for outreach activities which represent that
connectivity and we will continue to support them while seeking more accountability.
Personal and Financial Commitment means that we will seek to help individuals
and organizations who will welcome our hands-on, as well as our financial participation in their endeavors.
Communication and Education mean that we will seek to provide the
congregation with extensive information about Christian Outreach initiatives. We believe that the more the congregation knows about the extent and outcome of the outreach
of the Newtown Presbyterian Church, the more they will participate and assure the funding for increased activity.
