Outreach Opportunities!You are asking yourself - how can I get involved with the exciting outreach mission of the Newtow Presbyterian Church? Well, here is where you can find the answer. Listed below are just a few of the opportunities for you to offer your time, contribution or prayers. See something that interests you? Or, perhaps, is there some valuable skill or ability that you feel could make a difference? One Great Hour of Sharing - Click here to read about how your contributions to One Great Hour of Sharing are used to witness the love of Christ to people around the world. Pickering Manor Home -Members of NPC have been active volunteers, Community Welfare Council members, and residents of Pickering Manor Home. In order to carry out its mission, the home needs and appreciates volunteers. Red Cross Shelter - For the past several years, NPC has provided volunteer services to the shelter for one week each winter. Services provided include child-care, transportation and meal service. In addition, NPC members give donations of items, and money to purchase need supplies. VITA - Special needs include volunteers to become tutors and mentors for the Jobs Readiness program in the Bucks County Correctional Facility Contact - Volunteers are needed, comprehensive training is available to become a caring listener to persons who are lonely, grieving, fearful, suicidal or dealing with difficult problems. Aid for Friends - Each month (the first Wednesday), NPC volunteers prepare and freeze meals that are delivered to an Aid For Friends central distribution Center in Philadelphia. Interfaith Housing -Over the years, NPC has sponsored a number of work days with IHDC to help with the fixup of houses that will become family homes. Also, IHDC offers a warehouse operation which provides free household goods to people moving from a homeless shelter to permanent housing. Donation of furniture, kitchen utensils, linens are encouraged. Kirkwood Camp -The camp has an urgent need for retired nurse volunteers, an experience potter, and donation of one or more canoes.
